Coming soon…Hometown Player

Late summer, my editor asked me to come up with a plan to market Welcome to Aberdeen. At that time, I had no clue. After all, I’ve never published a book before, so I really had no idea how to promote one. So, I did what all curious people do…I searched the internet and stumbled upon an author who wrote a short story to complement her upcoming novel. This information got the wheels turning in my head.

A few years ago, eager to remain in Ben’s world, I created a short story about him prior to Lily’s arrival into Aberdeen. I delved into his life as a player, and scribbled out a quick story about a woman setting her sights on him only to lose out time and again until the very end. I loved the story, but knew it was only a short and probably wouldn’t go far.

Oh, was I wrong. I approached my editor about the story and my idea to market it as a ‘prequel’ to W2A.  She accepted my idea with the caveat I make some changes and get them to her quickly. So, over three days, I re-wrote the whole story – 20,000 words and came up with Hometown Player. If possible, I’m even more in love with Ben. I love his history, his personality, his character, and now, happily I can say, Hometown Player will soon be published. I just received the cover and the blurb, which I’ve included here.

Hometown Player will come out a month before Welcome to Aberdeen, and if you ask me, both are wonderful. At least, I think they are. Every time I read them, and trust me, I’ve scoured those books thousands of times, I sigh at the end. Maybe I’m a sap, or maybe I’m just in love with my story, but either way, I think they are incredible, and I hope you will too.

So, without further ado, here’s the blurb and the AMAZING cover, which I just think is the hottest thing I’ve ever seen!

Hope you look forward to seeing them in print as much as I am!
